This January my 4th, 6th, and 7th grade classes all received 4 or more ART PAWs in my class. You know what that means: A holiday project! February is a short month but it contains two very popular celebrations: Black History Month and Valentines Day. With room for only one holiday project, we celebrated both by making Black History Valentines. Students were able to select images of famous black heroes, musicians, artists, scientists, and leaders for their valentines. For a simpler design, students could also select images of jazz instruments. Then, students used nail polish remover to transfer the image onto their valentine. From there, students were able to add designs using paint and glitter. It was a bit of a mess, but lots of fun! Check out the pictures below to see their work.
