Miscellaneous Classroom Policies:
Homework:
Occasionally students may be asked to bring in materials from home, but otherwise there is no homework in this class. Students have plenty of time to complete their assignments during class time.
Make-Up Work:
If a student is absent, they are still responsible for completing the assignments they have missed. Students may make up sketchbook assignments by bringing the assignment home with them. All other assignments must be completed in the art studio. Students may schedule a time with Ms. Katz that they can come in and complete their assignment. If a student plans to stay late or come early to make up work, they must bring a signed permission note from their parent.
Extra Credit:
Extra credit is always available to students who bring in newspapers to the art studio. Check the blog occasionally to see if Ms. Katz is requesting other materials or recyclables.
Smocks/Art aprons:
Students may bring in smocks to wear during messy projects. A smock can be an old shirt, an apron, or a garbage bag. The smock should have the student's name written clearly on it, and it can be stored in the art room. Large button-down shirts make the best smocks because they cover sleeves, shirts, and the tops of pants.
Returning Student Art:
Student art will be kept in the art room throughout the school year, and returned at the end of the year. This is because the artwork may be displayed in art shows, network offices, or in the school. If a students is transferring, please contact Ms. Katz, and she will return your work before your departure.
