Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow? In the art room, our gardens grow in rainbow order! Our first grade students completed their garden paintings including red roses, orange orchids, yellow yasmin, green grass, blue bluebells, indigo irises, and violet violas. First grade students have been practicing their rainbow order and have been using the name ROY G. BIV to help them remember the order. Take a look below at their beautiful paintings!

We just had a ton of fun with our April incentive project. Students were able to partake in a very unique art process called: Ebru. This is a paper marbling process where water is mixed with a thickener called size, and then paints are spread and marbled on the surface of the water. Once the design is complete, paper coated with alum, a special fixative, is dipped into the water to absorb the design. This is the first time I have tried this messy process indoors, but our Bright stars were able to keep the mess under control! Congratulations 6th & 8th grades!
