Middle school students have just finished hanging their leadership portraits! Students worked for the first time with charcoal and conte crayons to create extra large portraits.

Primary and intermediate grades just completed colored pencil portraits! Students were required to use a warm or cool color scheme as they demonstrated shading, form, and abstract ideas. Keys posted below the portraits decode the abstract shapes students selected to represent their personalities.

Ms. KatzenbachMs. "Katz" is a teaching artist, with specialties in painting and video. She graduated from the University of Illinois with both a bachelors and a masters in Art Education. This will be Ms. Katz's 8th year teaching at O.T. Bright Elementary School. Archives
