This year, third, fourth, and fifth grades will be creating art projects that explore different habitats around the planet. All year long, students will be selecting animals or places to create artwork about. Currently, we are creating "sketch notes" for each of the following habitats: Temperate forests, tropical rain forests, grasslands, deserts, arctic regions, and the ocean. Sketch notes are a form of note-taking that combines information gathering with drawing and design. Students participated in discussions, read information, and watched video clips about each of these habitats while they created their sketch notes. Below I have taken pictures of some very well designed notes!
