Below, I have linked some of the videos we practiced illustrating in class. Recently, classes have moved on to paint abstract interpretations of various musical styles from Latin America. Soon classes will use these experiences to create musical portraits of important musicians in American history.
Intermediate and middle school art classes have been experimenting with musical art. To practice, classes started by watching clips from the original fantasia to see how artists made visual choices to go along with each musical selection. Artists needed to choose specific colors, line styles, shapes, and movements to represent the instruments, melodies, and rhythms within the music.
